Socialist TD Joe Higgins is threatening to picket Leinster House for an hour today in an attempt to have his suspension from the Dail overturned, so that he can attend a debate on Liam Lawlor.

Socialist TD Joe Higgins is threatening to picket Leinster House for an hour today in an attempt to have his suspension from the Dail overturned, so that he can attend a debate on Liam Lawlor.

Deputy Higgins who is also a representative for Dublin West, was banned from the chamber before Christmas for disobeying the Ceann Comhairle.

TDs will discuss a government motion calling on Mr Lawlor to resign his Dail seat if he fails to co-operate with the Flood Tribunal.

The move comes as the disgraced TD stands down from two Oireachtas committees.
