Environment Minister Noel Dempsey is being condemned over allegations that he sought and accepted a donation on behalf on Fianna Fail from a company involved in a bid to build an incinerator in Co Meath.
The Green Party is claiming that Minister Dempsey asked the Irish wing of a Belgian incineration company for money, even thought it had applied for planning permission for Ireland's first commercial incinerator at Duleek.
Green TD John Gormley said last night if the Minister could not answer the claims, then he must step down.
