Major investment for fire services

The Department of the Environment today announced that it is to invest £15 m in the country's fire fighting services.

The Department of the Environment today announced that it is to invest £15 m in the country's fire fighting services.

A number of fire stations will be refurbished as part of a package of measures to upgrade the service.

The move marks a £7m increase on last year's spending on the Fire Service in Ireland.
