Newport have been forced to make two changes to the side originally picked for Tuesday's rearranged Heineken Cup Pool Four match at Bath.
Wing Matt Mostyn and centre Andy Marinos have flown out to Argentina to join their respective Sevens squads, Ireland and Wales.
That has left Newport with no option but to shuffle their back line for a game that could yet see Bath qualify for the quarter-finals this weekend.
The 1998 champions would have to beat the Black and Ambers and score at least 12 tries in doing so to set up a last-eight tie at Stade Francais.
But Newport lock Ian Gough has told Bath Newport will not be walkovers at The Recreation ground.
Gough will take his place in a Newport side that shows six changes, including one positional, from the team that lost to Munster.
Ben Breeze comes in for Martyn Llewellyn on the left wing; Llewellyn switches to the right in place of Mostyn; Jonathan Pritchard takes over from Marinos; tight head prop Adrian Garvey replaces Rod Snow; hooker Paul Young replaces James Richards, and David Gray steps in for Jason Forster who will captain the Wales Sevens side in Argentina.
Gough said: "Okay, so we cannot reach the last eight and that's disappointing for us. But we still have a lot to play for.
"We are not going to go there just for the ride; we want to finish with a win. Bath will obviously be out to avenge their defeat here earlier in the season and they still have an outside chance of going through.
"But for us it's a chance to forget the Munster game and move forward towards our next game in the Welsh/Scottish League."
