Bomb scare in Limerick

A section of Limerick city has been sealed off this afternoon following the discovery of a suspicious device.

A section of Limerick city has been sealed off this afternoon following the discovery of a suspicious device.

The gardai were alerted to the device by a member of the public a short time ago.

Thomas St has been closed to both pedestrians and motorists in an operation co-ordinated by Henry St garda station.

The Emergency Response Unit is on its way to Limerick but it is not yet known what time it will arrive in the city.
