The healing process within the Olympic Council of Ireland begins today as Pat Hickey starts another four-year term as president.
Mr Hickey successfully fended off the challenge to his leadership from Richard Burrows yesterday.
Despite speculation of a close contest, Hickey won the vote easily by 27 votes to 10 to lengthen his 12-year reign.
After his defeat, Mr Burrows said that Mr Hickey must now follow through on his promises and ensure that the athletes take centre stage for the next Olympics in Athens in 2004.
