The European Shield semi-final between Newcastle Falcons and Harlequins will be played at Headingley Stadium on Sunday, April 22.

The match - a repeat of next week’s Tetley’s Bitter Cup Final - will be televised live on BBC2 with a 3pm kick-off.

It will be the second major union occasion to be held at the ground, which has hosted countless rugby league internationals, following England A’s clash with Scotland two years ago.

The winners will meet the victors of the all-French semi between Narbonne and Agen.
