Dozens of stone-throwing youths clashed with police in Brussels for the second night running in continued unrest over the shooting of a suspected drugs dealer.
Police detained 12 people during last night's fracas, which saw cars damaged and shop windows smashed in the Matonge neighbourhood, which is home to much of the Belgian capital's African community.
The media in Belgium is reporting that one of those detained was carrying a petrol bomb. No injuries were reported overnight.
Tension between police and local youths has increased since officers shot dead a 36-year-old man of African origin on Thursday.
Police say the man was a suspected drugs dealer who surprised officers searching for him after he fled a raid on his home.
A criminal investigation has been launched against one police officer in connection with the shooting.
