A man in his 20s has died in a two-car collision on the Tralee to Castleisland road in Co Kerry this morning.

A man in his 20s has died in a two-car collision on the Tralee to Castleisland road in Co Kerry this morning.

The accident happened at Ballycarthy Cross shortly before 8am.

The crash follows one of the worst Easter weekends on record, with nine people killed on the Republic's roads between Friday and Monday night.

Another five people died in road accidents in the North over the same period.
