Workers held hostage during Antrim raid

04/01/2007 - 12:40:55
Police in the North are hunting for an armed gang that held four employees hostage during a robbery at a motor service centre in Co Antrim.

The eight-strong gang, who were armed with handguns and a shotgun, confronted the workers at the centre in Dunmurry last night.

The four employees were tied up and two later had tape put over their eyes before being driven to an undisclosed location.

One of these men was repeatedly threatened and assaulted as the gang demanded to know where cash was kept.

One of the gang members then returned to the business premises and stole an unknown sum of money before releasing the two kidnapped workers.
