Worker dies as trench collapses on Cork building site
11/12/2006 - 07:45:12Gardaí and the Health and Safety Authority have mounted separate investigations into a fatal accident on a building site in Co Cork over the weekend.
The victim is understood to have been laying pipes in a 3ft-deep trench in Shanagarry when it collapsed on Saturday morning.
He has been named as John Brown, a developer from Rostellan, near Whitegate.
Another man working on the site escaped serious injury in the incident.
