Woman with broken leg rescued from Croagh Patrick

A woman in her 50s has been rescued from Croagh Patrick in Co Mayo this morning.

A woman in her 50s has been rescued from Croagh Patrick in Co Mayo this morning.

The alarm was raised at around 9am and the Mayo Mountain Rescue Team and the Coastguard helicopter were involved in the operation.

The woman was airlifted to Mayo General Hospital in Castlebar with a suspected broken leg.

Her injuries are not believed to be life threatening.
