A woman in her 40s is expected to appear before a sitting of Dublin District Court this morning charged in connection with the death of a man in the city.

The body of 42-year-old Tyrone McKenna was found at his home in Rathfarnham on Thursday evening. He is believed to have suffered a knife wound to his back.

The body was discovered at the foot of the stairs, at the home he shared with his father at Marley Court in Rathfarnham.

Neighbours say the family lived there for years but that Tyrone only recently returned with a girlfriend he'd been seeing for the past few months.

A post mortem was carried out yesterday, the results of which are expected later today.

A woman in her 40s was arrested yesterday in connection with Mr McKenna's death and questioned at Blackrock Garda Station.
