Woman in her 70s dead after Carlow collision

A woman in her 70s has died in a collision in Co Carlow.

A woman in her 70s has died in a collision in Co Carlow.

The woman was a passenger in a car which collided with a jeep at Kilcarrig, Bagenalstown shortly before 3pm this afternoon.

She was pronounced dead at the scene and her body removed to Carlow mortuary.

The driver of the car, a woman in her early 70s, has been taken to St. Luke's Hospital in Kilkenny with serious injuries.

The driver of the jeep, who is in her 30s, has been taken to the same hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The road has since re-opened.
