A 22-year-old woman is due to appear at a special sitting of Ennis District Court this morning, in connection with an assault.
It follows the stabbing of a woman in the town on Saturday evening.
A 23-year-old woman was stabbed in the head, neck and upper body in the grounds of a primary school in the Station Road/Friar's Walk area of Ennis around 5pm on Saturday evening.
She remains in a serious but stable condition in intensive care in hospital, after having surgery following the attack.
Gardaí arrested a 22-year-old woman in a nearby shopping centre, shortly after the attack.
She is due to appear at a special sitting of Ennis District Court at 10am this morning, charged in relation to the assault.
Gardaí are still appealing for witnesses to the attack to contact them.
