A woman has died in a house fire in Co Clare.

A woman has died in a house fire in Co Clare.

Gardaí say the 55-year-old was the only occupant of the bungalow in Ballyvaughan in the north of the county when the blaze broke out at around 7pm last night.

The cause of the fire is not yet known, but it is not being treated as suspicious.

A technical examination of the scene is taking place.
