Woman arrested in connection with Anthony Ward death

Gardaí investigating the death of eight-year-old Anthony Ward at Charleville, Co Cork have today arrested "a woman in her 40s", according to a Garda statement.
She is detained at Mallow Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 and can be held for up to 24 hours.
The body of Anthony Ward was found at his home in Charleville yesterday morning.
After a post mortem examination confirmed he died from asphyxia, gardaí upgraded their investigation into his death to one of murder.
The woman was arrested this evening at a location in Cork.
