A wind warning is in effect today in several parts of the country.
Met Éireann issued a wind warning yesterday afternoon, which came into effect at 9am on Monday morning.
It applies to Donegal, Galway, Leitrim, Mayo, Sligo, Clare, Cork, Kerry and Limerick.
The national forecaster is predicting "very strong" southerly winds averaging 45-55 km/h, with gusts peaking between 90 and 100 km/h.
And on the west coast, mean winds will reach 55-65 km/h in the afternoon, with gusts between 100 and 110 km/h and strong gales at sea.
The warning is expected to remain valid until 9pm this evening.
The general forecast is for a mix of cloud and sunny intervals in all areas, with scattered showers, mainly in western and southern areas.
