Whereabouts of Irish aid worker still a mystery

Sharon Commins
The whereabouts of kidnapped Irish aid worker Sharon Commins remain a mystery this morning as Irish diplomats continue efforts to secure her release.
Ms Commins, a 32-year-old GOAL employee from Dublin, was abducted along with a Ugandan colleague by an armed gang in Darfur last Friday.
Irish officials have travelled to Sudan in an effort to negotiate her release, but it remains unclear who exactly was responsible for the kidnapping.
Several anti-government rebel groups are active in Darfur, while the area is also plagued by pro-government militia known as the Janjiweed.
The Labour Party says it will be raising the plight of Ms Commins in the Dáil today.
