Westmeath businessman fined for refusal to supply payroll documents


A Westmeath businessman has been fined today for failing to comply with a request to provide documentation to the Pensions Ombudsman.

John Carter, trading as A and A insulation, was fined €2,500 by Mullingar District Court.

It relates to a complaint alleging that a former employee's pension contributions were deducted from their wages and that the employer failed to remit such deductions to the relevant pension scheme.

Pensions Ombudsman Paul Kenny said he was met with continued refusal to supply payroll documentation.
