Water tankers in place following Dublin disruption07/08/2012 - 13:23:17
Tankers are in place in parts of Dublin today as water disruption in the northside of the capital continues.
Residents and businesses in the affected areas are being advised not to use their tap water for drinking or cooking.
The alert came into effect yesterday after water sampling test results indicated there was a possible presence of bacteria in the water.
The affected areas are located from the Howth Road to Castle Avenue, and from the Howth Road at Collins Avenue to Clontarf Road.
Further tests will be carried out today but in the meantime, people in these areas are being advised not to drink their tap water or use it for cooking.
Water tankers have been set up at Castle Park at Kincora Avenue and on St Lawrence Road at the Howth Road.
A third tanker is roving around the area and Dublin City Council says anyone who needs water can flag it down.
Dublin City Council says tests are taking place to investigate the possible presence of bacteria.
However, the Council has already ruled out the presence of e-coli.
