Voting over in Children's Rights Referendum

Polling stations for the Children's Rights Referendum have now closed.

Voter turnout figures have yet to be finalised but average estimates stands at approximately 25-30%.

Turnout across the country remained low throughout the day but picked up towards the latter part of the evening.

Today was the second time only that a referendum has been held on a Saturday - the first was 10 years ago in the second vote on the Nice Treaty.
