Vomiting bug fears prompt visitor ban at Sligo Regional Hospital


Sligo Regional Hospital has become the latest such facility to implement a ban on visitors because of an outbreak of the winter vomiting bug.

The HSE said it is because there's been an increase in the number of cases in the community.

A blanket ban on visitors was also introduced at the Mid-Western Regional Hospital in Limerick earlier this week, in an effort to contain the spread of the winter vomiting bug.
