Vodafone said today that it is disappointed that some members of the Communication Workers Union have voted for industrial action.

In a statement this evening, Vodafone said that it is still engaged in a consultation process with the union over the decision to move its mobile customer care service to a new third-party contractor.

The decision affects 26 Vodafone roles and 290 positions with the existing third party contractor, Rigney Dolphin.

Vodafone has invited employees to transfer to Teleperformance under their existing terms and conditions, but said that it recognises that not every employee can relocate to Newry.
