A spokeswoman for the Cliffs of Moher Visitor Centre said: “Conditions are extremely dangerous today so we will be remaining closed.
“We would advise people not visit the cliffs today under any circumstances.”
Over 1 million people visited the iconic cliffs in 2014 making it the country’s second most popular attraction after the Guinness Storehouse.
High winds have previously lifted people and even vehicles off the ground resulting in some injuries.
Intending visitors have been advised to check with Cliffs visitor centre or social media before travelling.
