Visitor numbers down between July and September

The number of visitors to Ireland fell by 2.6% between July and September.
A total of 2,096,700 people came here in the third quarter - 55,000 fewer people compared to the same period last year.
Trips by residents of Great Britain to Ireland decreased by 8.9% to 830,200.
Visitors from European Countries other than Great Britain (Other Europe) increased by 1.8% to 776,800 while visitors from North America increased by 3.6% to 365,200.
The number of visitors from Other Areas decreased by 0.1% to 124,500.
Irish residents made 2.1% more trips abroad between July and September this year, compared to 2011.
