VIDEO: Priest allegedly stops traveller woman from entering church because of her dress

A priest in County Clare has been criticised for refusing members of the travelling community entry into a First Holy Communion.

Caroline Sherlock said that she was among those refused entry to the church.

She said that the priest told her she was "inappropriately dressed."

"My daughter came out of the church when the mass was over because I never got a chance to enter the church," said Ms Sherlock.

"She was all excited, saying 'Mummy did you hear me singing?' She had put a lot of time and effort practicing for that. And I had to turn around and say 'I did not love, because the Parish Priest did not allow me into the church. And she could not understand why."
