Sinn Fein's Liadh Ni Riada has been elected to the European Parliament for the Ireland South Constituency.

Ní Riada is the second Sinn Féin candidate elected to the European Parliament following Lynn Boylan's poll-topping performance in the Dublin constituency yesterday.

Gillian Godsell was eliminated on the fourth count and Richard Cahill on the fifth at the count centre in Douglas, Cork.

Counting is continuing with results of the sixth count expected shortly.
