Video footage admitted as evidence in Quinn case04/07/2012 - 13:09:28
New evidence relating to a video showing Seán Quinn's son and nephew at a meeting in Kiev has been admitted in conspiracy proceedings by the Irish Bank Resolution Corporation (IBRC) against the Quinn family.
The footage secured by the Irish Mail on Sunday is allegedly from last January and appears to show Sean Quinn Jnr and Peter Quinn discussing payments of $100,000 (€79,000)
Purportedly shot inside a Kiev restaurant, the footage allegedly shows the two men meeting with Russian-speaking business people.
In an affidavit submitted to the court today, IBRC executive Richard Woodhouse said they appear to be referring to attempts to strip Ukrainian assets for the benefit of the Quinn family.
It is alleged that this was filmed last January, when court orders were in place stopping the men from dispersing their international property assets.
In the footage, Peter Quinn appears to show a willingness to lie to a court and Sean Quinn is dissatisfied with a $100,000 payment.
Described by IBRC's lawyers as significant, the footage now forms part of the evidence for the bank in proceedings against the Quinns which will go to hearing later this month.
