Varadkar welcomes new Shannon-Chicago route

The Transport Minister Leo Varadkar has welcomed news that United Airlines is to run a non-stop service between Shannon and Chicago.
It will run five times a week from June to August next year, and provide connections for 125 destinations across America and the Caribbean.
Leo Varadkar says it is a significant vote of confidence in Shannon Airport by United Airlines, and an important development for tourism in the midwest.
The service will come online just in time for 'The Gathering' next year, and the minister says he knows "Tourism Ireland and Failte Ireland will work hard to ensure the potential of the new route is fully utilised".
