The Health Minister Leo Varadkar has tonight backed the Government's record for dealing with overcrowding in hospitals.

The Health Minister Leo Varadkar has tonight backed the Government's record for dealing with overcrowding in hospitals.

However, Varadkar did acknowledge the seriousness of the numbers on trolleys in emergency departments around the country.

The Minister today attended the second meeting of the Emergency Departments Taskforce which he has said will meet on a monthly basis.

Minister Varadkar added that overall the coalition's track record is better than that of the last Government when it comes to healthcare.
