Valuation finds government jet sold for €418,000 was worth almost twice that

The State's spending watchdog has said the Government might have lost out on extra cash over the sale of the government jet.

The Comptroller and Auditor General said there should have been a tendering process when the jet was sold off last year.

The Gulfstream jet was sold for €418,000, with another €53,000 raised when spare parts were sold.

An informal valuation found the plane could have been worth up to €750,000 while the spare parts were worth more than €400,000.
