One hundred jobs are to be created by an American software company with the opening of its European headquarters in Ireland.

SmartBear Software is to open its new offices in Galway with the jobs coming on stream over the next five years.

The company delivers software solutions to more than 200 million people in more than 90 countries around the world.

It has offices in the United States, Sweden, Spain and Russia.
