Unofficial strike hits southern rail services

Rail services in the south of the country are being widely disrupted due to unofficial strike action by members of the National Bus and Rail Worker's Union.

Rail services in the south of the country are being widely disrupted due to unofficial strike action by members of the National Bus and Rail Worker's Union.

Thousands of passengers are being affected, and most services to Cork and Kerry this evening are either cancelled or cut short.

The lightning strike action is in response to a dispute involving an individual member of staff.

Services affected are:

- All Cork-Cobh line services cancelled

- 17.30hrs Cork to Heuston unlikely to operate

- 18.35hrs Heuston to Tralee cancelled

- 19.15hrs Cork to Heuston will start from Mallow

- 19.30hrs Heuston to Cork unlikely to operate

- 21.15hrs Heuston to Cork unlikely to operate
