Union denies Dairygold redundancy scheme
05/12/2003 - 18:41:16The union representing workers at Dairygold in Cork is denying it has agreed to a redundancy scheme.
The firm is planning to cut 500 jobs in Mallow - a third of its workforce there.
The company has asked staff to register for voluntary redundancy by December 17, or face involuntary redundancy.
SIPTU said it will not accept any proposal for compulsory redundancies.
But it points out that talks are continuing with the company.
