Uncle murder accused 'guilty but insane'
22/11/2004 - 13:45:08A 51-year-old Clare man has pleaded guilty but insane at the Central Criminal Court to the murder of his 82-year-old uncle.
John McInerney of Belharbour, Co Clare, today issued his guilty but insane plea to the murder of Sean Daly on April 30, 2003 at Abbey West, Belharbour, Co Clare.
A jury of five women and seven men was sworn in at the Central Criminal Court and the trial will begin tomorrow before Mr Justice Paul Carney.
The trial is expected to last one day.
