Ulster Bank boss Brown to fore-go annual bonus

The chief executive of Ulster Bank has decided to fore-go his bonus this year.

Jim Brown made the announcement in a statement this evening, after earlier today admitting that the actual number of customers affected by a technical problem at Ulster Bank is over 500,000.

Mr Browne has said that he told the board he doesn't want to be considered for an annual bonus award for 2012 to prove that he is personally committed to re-earning customer trust.

Efforts to clear the backlog are continuing.
