Ulster Bank apologises for double charging some customers

Ulster Bank has this afternoon apologised for a new technical problem at the bank which has shown up on its systems.
Last week, customers at the bank began reporting that their accounts were showing that they had been charged twice for some transactions.
The bank says it is working around the clock to rectify this latest fault and is assuring its customers that all duplicate postings will be reversed.
It is now almost three weeks since a computer crash at the bank caused major disruption for its 150,000 Irish customers, which meant bills went unpaid and salaries failed to appear in accounts.
Ulster Bank said the majority of its customers' accounts are now up to date as far as last Monday, and it expects services will return to normal by July 16.
