Two women attacked by seagull in Dublin

Two women are recovering from injuries sustained after they were attacked by a seagull in Co Dublin at the weekend.

The pair were eating chips in Howth Harbour with their children on Sunday afternoon when a gull swooped in.

Both were left with cuts to their mouths.

One of the women, Laura Grehan, required a tetanus shot and antibiotics after the attack.

"If I was listening to this I'd think it was actually a wind-up, you know, getting hit in the face by a seagull," she said.

"The seagull's head actually hit the side of my nose. I heard this whack.

"I was in shock, I was saying 'oh my God'and then my son, who is seven, he got really upset because he had seen all the blood."
