Two sides resume talks in Galway psychiatric nurses dispute

The Psychiatric Nurses Association and the HSE are to recommence talks at the LRC over the row at University College Hospital Galway.

Staff at the hospital had been operating a work-to-rule since Tuesday, over security concerns at the Acute Psychiatric Unit.

The PNA had reported more than 30 assaults on its members at the facility since the start of the year.

Both sides have now agreed to reconvene talks and the work to rule by staff will remain in place pending an outcome.
