Two passengers were treated for injuries after an emergency involving a Ryanair flight at Kerry Airport this morning.

The incident happened when fumes were detected in the cockpit of a plane that was coming in from London Stansted.

The Air Accident Investigation Unit says it is awaiting a report from mechanics following the emergency evacuation shortly after 9am.

It is not yet clear whether there was an issue with the aircraft, or whether the fumes were from the de-icer on the runway, which may have been ingested into the cabin.

Ryanair says the incident was a precautionary evacuation after the plane had landed and that engineers are examining the aircraft.
