Two men arrested and handguns seized in Cork
23/02/2013 - 21:05:10Gardaí in Cork have arrested two men and seized two handguns as part of an ongoing operation into the activities of dissident republicans.
The man were arrested at around 4pm today after gardaí stopped a vehicle in the Dean Rock area of Togher, a suburb of Cork city.
The two men are currently detained at Togher Garda Station under the provisions of Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act 1939.
Two firearms (handguns) were also recovered at the scene and are now subject to technical examination.
