Two Limerick men have appeared before the Special Criminal Court charged with membership of the IRA.

Two Limerick men have appeared before the Special Criminal Court charged with membership of the IRA.

Thirty-four-year-old Noel Noonan, of North Claughan Road, Garryowen and 31-year-old Thomas McMahon, of Ros Fearna, Murroe were arrested on Thursday night in Cahir, Co Tipperary as part of an operation targeting dissident republicans.

The two men are due to appear in court again next Friday.
