Two competitors, two spectators still in hospital after Meath car rally crash

Four men remain in hospital after they were injured at a car rally in Co Meath yesterday afternoon.

Four men remain in hospital after they were injured at a car rally in Co Meath yesterday afternoon.

Two competitors and two spectators were hurt when a car went out of control at the ALMC Stages Rally, along a section of the route near Athboy, just before 4pm.

The driver and co-driver of the car were injured along with two other men believed to have been watching the event.

One of the men was taken by helicopter to Beaumont Hospital in Dublin for treatment.

The other three men have been taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda, Co Louth.
