Two charged in connection with assault in Tallaght

A court has heard a Dublin man is on life support after he was attacked in Tallaght in the early hours of New Year’s Day.

23-year old-Graham Palmer of Bolbrook Grove, and 20-year-old Aisling Burke of Homelawn Road, both in Tallaght have been charged with violent disorder.

Gardaí say they chased Palmer and Burke from the scene of the attack.

They claim the father-of-one had blood on his hands and face and that his co-accused had blood on her shoes.

Dublin District Court also heard that it is alleged the pair can be seen in CCTV footage of the assault which took place on a pedestrian bridge at Saint Dominic’s Road at around 4am yesterday.

A 20-year-old man has been left on life support as a result of his injuries.

Graham Palmer and Aisling Burke are charged with violent disorder. Bail has been set despite garda objections.

Judge Michael Walsh has stipulated that the two accused must stay out of Tallaght and have no contact with prosecution witnesses.

The pair will appear in court again this evening when a remand date will be set.
