Two arrests made following separate cannabis seizures in Leitrim


Two men are being detained following the discovery of cannabis plants with an estimated street value of almost half a million euro, following separate searches in Co Leitrim.

Cannabis plants valued at €240,000 were recovered after a house in the Kilclare area of Carrick-on Shannon was searched yesterday afternoon.

A 44-year-old man was arrested at the scene and is being detained at Manorhamilton garda station.

In a separate search of a house in the Aughamore area, cannabis plants worth €250,000 were recovered.

A 41-year-old man was arrested at the scene and is being held at Carrick-on-Shannon garda station.
