Two arrests following Limerick taxi driver hold up

Two men have been arrested after a taxi driver was held up in Limerick on Saturday night.

The driver picked up two men at around 10.20pm on St. Nessan's Road and drove to Russell Court.

The men then asked to be taken to Sixmilebridge, and onwards to Cratloe Woods, where one of them produced a knife, threatened the taxi driver and demanded to be taken to Limerick city.

At Dooradoyle, the taxi driver was told to get out, and the two men drove his car in the direction of Garryowen Rugby Club.

The driver was not injured during the incident and gardaí have arrested two men in their late teens, who are being held at Roxboro Road garda station.
