Two arrested over rush-hour murder on Dublin street

Gardaí in Dublin are questioning two men in connection with the murder of a man in a gangland-style shooting on a busy street in the city during yesterday evening's rush hour.

Gardaí in Dublin are questioning two men in connection with the murder of a man in a gangland-style shooting on a busy street in the city during yesterday evening's rush hour.

The 42-year-old father-of-four was shot dead by the pillion passenger on a motorbike, which pulled up alongside him as he was cycling in the north inner city.

The shooting happened at the junction of Clonliffe Road and Ballybough Road at around 5pm

The victim is believed to be known to gardaí, but was not involved in any criminal gang.
