Two arrested in Cork as part of Ger Delaney murder probe

Two men have been arrested as part of the Garda investigation into the murder of Ger Delaney in Cork.

The 51-year-old died following a row outside the Manhattan Bar on Lower Friar’s Walk in Ballyphehane in the early hours of December 27 last. He was beaten and stabbed a number of times.

The father of two was brought to a nearby house, and later to Cork University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

This morning, two men were arrested as part of the Garda investigation into the killing. One of the men is in his late teens, the other in his early twenties.

Both have been taken to Mayfield garda station for questioning, where they can be held for up to 24 hours.
