Major delays are expected at airports around the country this morning following severe weather overnight.
Gale force winds of up to 130 kilometres per hour caused a number of flights to be diverted or cancelled at Dublin and Cork airports.
The DAA said that this will have a knock-on effect on today's schedule and passengers should check with their airline before travelling to the airport.
Ferry services have also been effected - Irish Ferries has cancelled its Dublin to Holyhead sailings today, while Stena Lines' Rosslare Fishguard crossing has also been cancelled.
Motorists are also being advised to drive with extreme care and watch out for spot flooding and fallen tress.
"Motorists are advised to expect debris on the road, so you will need to take extra care this morning," Arwen Foley of AA Roadwatch said.
"And roads are wetter in Cavan town, Letterkenny, Galway city, Tullamore and Tralee.
"In Dublin Airport though, the airport is advising that passengers will experience major flight delays and cancellations this morning following the disruption last night."
